From reading AVS forum, I was ready to pull the trigger on a Panasonic G10. Then we went to Best Buy to see personally, and it was so much more beautiful in every way. Sorry fanboys Panny, but the image on the current models only looks dirty. The largest have been much better. Maybe they made too many compromises to the quality mark “thing.” WAY and reflective. In any case, the Samsung has today more than calibration, the setting of “film” mode (waiting after the sunset for this). Watching a show about quasars, pulsars, and on DirecTV Channel HD (720p) and say “hu” and “wow”, just like a firework. The colors are bright but not strong (like the LCD monitor may be). N. streaks, jagged edge. Incredibly detailed, but Smooooth. It’s just amazing. Skin tone naturally, is like watching a real person. This replaces a calibrated Samsung 56 “DLP, which I prefer I’d never seen before (or is, but reservations LCD RPTVs were positively confused at the moment so I went with DLP rainbows because the case was rare and does not bother me – kind effective rights.) But this just blows away. E ‘as the fog has lifted. Hot? Yes, put a little’ heat, but I live in a cold climate (SF), so no big. Buzzing? Hello Def Directv is excellent in all respects, I use for my TV shows and Hi Def feed. I also have a Playstation 3, which is used only for the movie, and this was also very impressive. This model has a network connection with the setup was easy. I set up a network cable from my router to the TV, and I was on the line. I also like the fact that we turn on the remote control makes it very easy to see when the lights are dark in the room. In contrast, I do not think you could do better. The blacks are blacks and non – grainy, the colors are very true to nature, right out of the box. Now, you might want the color and tone to your likeing to perfect, but disagrees with the TV.
The 1080P is a true 1080p television, unlike some that use a 3:2 pulldown, which means it can do 24 fps, and 60 FPS. 1080p Some signals are only 24 frames per second as Directv 1080p-on-demand movies and some TVs can not constitute a transfer in 24 FPS and 1080p Directv can not use on TV, 3:2 pull odwn be displayerd Technology.
My wife also told him how much better than this picture others who have seen it in stores purchase.
If you have a nice picture with lots of features do not go worng with this new Samsung TV and is just 1. 2 “thick !!!!!!
And finally, if I have registered on-line TV with Samsung, they gave me more 3 months warranty.
After years of enjoying my Mitsubushi WS55819 RPT I decided it was time to part. All my other equipment was paired with HDMI 1. 3 and I could not take advantage of what HDMI offers (let alone the amazing advances in picture quality and energy savings) I spent a great deal of time researching and viewing several plasma and LCD televisions (I loath viewing televisions at big box stores. all the sets need to be calibrated to make viewing an objective observation). After research and observations I chose the Samsung PN58B860. By purchasing the HDTV thru Amazon I saved enough money to pay for it to be calibrated. I decided I had paid to have the best, it seemed silly not to spend a little more money to provide the best video output the television can offer. I had David Abrams from AVICAL calibrate my plasma tv. He has a long and impressive referance list. David charged $300 to calibrate and $60 for travel (I live 120 miles away from LA and it was on his tour schedule). To be sure it did need calibrating and I can tell you my magnificent picture became even clearer, the colors more outstanding, and the darks as dark as midnight on a moonless night. The telvision is paired with an ONKYO TX-SR876 Receiver (purchased thru Amazon), OPPO Blue-Ray Disc Player Model No. BPD-83 and an Oppo DVD Player Model No. DV-983 (purchased thru Amazon), Bright House HD Cable DVR, Paradigm Monitor 9 front speakers, CC-370 Center cahnnel, ADP-370 surrounds (side and back). I have no regrets about my purchase of the set and I know it will deliver years of entertainmnet to my family and friends. . . oh, and of course me!
I must say that the Samsung PN58B860 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, is an impressive package, the picture amazing. I really could go on forever, but on all the things I like about this device to facilitate the design, use and equipment and so on. . But as previous posts, I can not be more than the drone. Originally, I present my swap device to another after discussing the issue with Samsung, but the buzz in the same device replacement. Totals can be heard when the device is switched low, and in a quiet room about 10 feet away, especially if you are sitting at center stage device. I also feel occassionly total during the whole scene in a movie. Still on it, whichever is later. I have not noticed, these amounts in units of this size from other manufacturers. Sorry, Samsung … He descends from a 5 star unit with 3 stars, because of the discomfort.
While the image quality of TV is excellent, our television because we are humming. Samsung has sent a type of repair that had returned to our house, because he had no idea to use the role to stop the unit sums. If the technician with the new Samsung partially approved, turned off the body of the television, because he was told to put in the wrong place. That was about 2 weeks. We have made repeated calls to Samsung customer service to no avail. Samsung refused to replace the TV and the workshop is unable to repair the damage. We have no TV for more than 2 weeks, and of course we have the money for TV and Samsung refused to replace the TV that their repair person damaged. Buyer beware.
