Sony BRAVIA XBR Series KDL-52XBR9 52-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV, Black
This is a very impressive TV. It replaces a 34-inch Sony WEGA tube-based HD TV that I bought in 2003, and I have an XBR6 in another room.
The picture quality is very good. I’m not an expert, and not quibble about technical details. I just know that I am the make-up, which does not fully cover can not see the face of the news yet, and I can not control his dental work. This is probably more than I need really.
The image seems to pop into the room, and this effect is enhanced by the narrow frame of the TV. It ‘a little’ what I think is called “Walls”, if there is no image on screen, but it is hardly noticeable and disappears completely when the image is displayed, even if the picture taking the entire screen. Not a problem at all.
The audio quality is very good. I use a speaker system and amplifier, if I do, where sound is particularly important today to have, but the built-in speaker here is fulfilling its purpose and very well adapted for routine use.
For me the most interesting thing is the Ethernet connection, although this is not for surfing the net. Sony is still in the process of updating Web pages, but I used the TV, to download high definition movies from Amazon and it works very well. Some of the competition in this space would be useful. Why not access Netflix? (8/4/09: After an automatic software update last night, there is a Netflix logo and a message that will be available for access Netflix available in the fall.)
With films and TV programs are available from Amazon and others, with the enlargement of Bravia Internet access and local stations that have multiple digital channels with different content, could compete with cable and DirecTV. DVDs look great, taken with a little help from my Oppo DVD player. Have never bought a Blu-ray. Built-in different quality video from the Internet pending extremely poor. Everything depends on the source content, and your connection speed. Because of its fluorescent backlight, the TV generates a lot of heat. The longer it is on, the hotter the room feels. The manual warns against closed systems, and recommends a clearance of 4 inches of air on both sides and bottom, and prevent 11 7 / 8 on top of heat damage or possible fire. The wall this TV in my room on the dresser instead of mirrors. My bedroom is 12×12 and not, that TV is not too large. Note that probably half of playback on a widescreen TV does not fill the entire screen without distorting the image so that the bigger the TV, the happier you will be. My current favorite of all is the PC input. I was connected to a computer in the next room, the dual-monitor display capabilities. The display quality is excellent PC strong. I am now able to lounge in bed and surf the Internet on the big screen with my Gyration wireless compact keyboard and mouse-to-air (all purchased from Amazon at a great price btw). They are also able to stream all of Netflix movies I want on PC without any additional cost, as my $ 8. 99 months of membership. Surprisingly Netflix streaming video quality is generally very good.
The bottom line. . . . This is a fantastic TV. The audio quality is very good for a flat screen, especially in surround mode. The speakers are at the bottom of the TV (not back), and are of reasonable size. Amazon had the best price and most importantly, you can trust. The black levels are not quite as dark as TVs with LED backlight, but the picture is still pretty good. Shipping was fast. Customer service Amazon has also informed me was the state of my mission and service delivery pilot very easy to use. Buy If you have played The Game Pending a large HD TV, I like it. . . UPDATE. . . 1. August 2009. . . Netflix is coming this fall for Sony Bravia. You already have the icon Netflix Internet video-menu added to my tv. This is one more reason for this remarkable TV for the purchase.

I bought the 52 “XBR9 to rave reviews (both consumer and) professional, but I am sadly disappointed in her.
The picture quality is good as expected for HDTV would, in those days, but the black level and we provide a backlight. E ‘dark but not black as I expected from a Sony XBR at this price range. backlighting, but the main blame TV. And ‘very surprising. you can still see the backlight seems from top to bottom two corners in every scene of a Blu-Ray dark or black bands. Backlighting is also very uneven. The XBR9 Sony HDTV is a view with nice features and good image quality, but I can do a little ‘disappointed with the black level and the power of the backlight.
I replaced my 42 “XBR Plasma Wega with this new model, and believe me when I say I love my plasma, but can not hold a candle to the new 9 XBR picture quality from any source seems only a large. Shows from cable to play movies on my PS3, only the pop-up images on the screen. I have my doubts about how well the XBR 9 would be fast action sports or handles the fast-moving images, but only the truly amazing how watching the action in crisp, with none of the ’smear’ that I expect from an LCD TV. I read a review earlier about how the blacks not black enough, I do not understand with all options on default settings and custom settings that I’m sure you can manipulate the image to your heart’s content. I do not see the spots of light in dark scenes or other strange visual anomalies on the screen. Also in this series has many input options, it is hard to all the inputs on your TV via HDMI are 4 of them. If you opt for an upgrade or get the first HD-TV you can not continue – that’s what you’re looking for. Well worth the price.
